City of Griffin contracts OpSolve to reconcile and import deposit information
ATLANTA, GA – June 17, 2005 – OpSolve LLC, a leading provider of Meter to Cash Utility solutions, announced today it has contracted with the City of Griffin in Griffin, Georgia, to reconcile and import the existing paper process used to record deposits and refunds into their Customer Information System (CIS). This will allow the City to increase efficiencies and improve customer service by eliminating the need for using paper. The reconciliation will take 6 to 8 weeks to match up hand written account numbers and names to accounts in the system. Procedures and training will be provided on handling deposits within the CIS. The new process will go in place immediately for current deposits and all future deposits paid.
“Often utilities have to do what they can with limited resources”, said Renee Gregory, Managing Partner, OpSolve LLC. “When the City of Griffin implemented their CIS six years ago, some of the secondary functionality was not fully built out. This is common in the industry and helps to expedite the implementation and lower costs. Unfortunately, this does result in continuing manual processes that are inefficient and costly.”
OpSolve will also oversee a team of resources that will be responsible for creating an electronic version of the deposit cards and refund books dating back to 1999. An automated process will be created to match customer accounts, names and additional key data to those that currently exist in the CIS. Any exceptions will need to be manually reviewed and corrected within the CIS.
